Millennium Trees
Our contribution to the
commemoration of the Millennium was, of course, the planting of two
Silver Lime trees in Abbey Road. The planting ceremony took place
on a sunny but very windy and chilly day in November. We thought it
appropriate to ask Diana Raphael to do the honours for us. Diana
had been the driving force behind the considerable improvement in
local efforts for the blooming of Evesham during the summer and this
was a recognition of those efforts.
The names of all
contributors were recorded on a scroll, which is now on display in
the Almonry Heritage Centre. |
