The Future

VALE OF EVESHAM CIVIC SOCIETY

What about the future?

Riverside Apartments, Evesham

We believe that the town does not make enough of its riverside and are campaigning for the establishment of a signposted circular walk that would take in the rowing club, Hampton Ferry and Merstow Green with improved footpaths and interpretation panels highlighting features of interest.

We are pressing for early implementation of a far-reaching scheme to enhance the High Street, which has been agreed by Transport2000 and the District Council.

Many areas in the town would benefit from upgrading of the existing deporable paving - notably in the Allée de Dreux and Vine Street.

A long term project is a new footbridge across the Avon adjacent to the rowing club to facilitate pedestrian access from the Four Pools area to the town centre.

Evesham became an attractive town with pleasant riverside parks a century ago because there were public spirited people of substance who were proud of their town.  Please help us to keep it that way.  Click here to join the Vale of Evesham Civic Society.
